Alkagesta said it took part in African Energy Week 2026 in Cape Town, with Rustam Mirzoev attending on its behalf throughout the five-day event. In its account of the conference, the company presented its participation as an opportunity to build contacts supporting its expanding African business. This brief is published as disclosed network-partner coverage, based on Alkagesta’s own report.

The company said its activities in African energy and commodity markets include supplying petroleum products and fertilisers in both West and East Africa. It linked attendance at the conference to engagement with policymakers, investors and energy industry representatives, and to strengthening relationships underpinning those operations. Its report did not identify any new supply agreements, investment commitments or infrastructure projects resulting from the event.

According to Alkagesta, the conference drew participants from government and business, including energy executives and international investors. Its programme spanned oil and gas production, midstream and downstream activities, renewable energy and associated services. Discussions considered Africa’s place in changing geopolitical conditions, the need for investment in its energy markets and how proposed developments could advance into delivery across electricity, hydrocarbons and renewables.

Energy security was among the subjects covered, alongside Africa’s potential to become a strategically important source of hydrocarbon growth. Alkagesta also highlighted discussions on funding renewable energy development, bringing renewed activity to onshore and brownfield assets, and opening up opportunities in frontier basins. These were conference themes rather than announcements of specific Alkagesta projects or commitments.

Separate investment sessions examined Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, the company said. Those country-focused discussions addressed opportunities relevant to the continent’s next phase of exploration and production. Alkagesta described the wider gathering as a forum for contact with the public- and private-sector participants influencing the direction of African energy development.
